Sam is sailing with his father from England to Jamestown, where they plan on purchasing land. They take along 26 gold sovereigns, including a lucky one that saved the life of their neighbor. On their journey to colonial America, they experience some of the hardships of a sea voyage. Then, when Sam's father is falsely arrested, they find out just how lucky that one sovereign is.
